Porter Robinson Announces New Festival, Second Sky

Porter Robinson has just announced Second Sky Music Festival, a one-day event featuring a curated lineup in Oakland this June!

The adrenaline coursing through my veins right now literally cannot be put into words but I am going to try… Porter Robinson has just announced that he’ll be teaming up with Goldenvoice to debut a personally curated music festival this summer. Set to be hosted on Saturday, June 15, Second Sky Music Festival will be a one-of-a-kind event for his fans that will take place at Middle Harbor Shoreline Park in Oakland, CA.

According to Porter’s post on Instagram, Second Sky will be “a new music festival curated by me and co-presented by Goldenvoice”. He went on to state that “me and so many of my favorite artists are going to play this thing” which has only added to the level of our excitement.

Ironically enough, Porterfam on Twitter had been debating the potential of a Porter-hosted festival a mere few weeks ago, having discussed the idea of a three-day festival where each of his aliases performs: Porter Robinson and VIRTUAL SELF. While the details haven’t been announced surrounding the lineup, it does seem that VIRTUAL SELF won’t be present on the lineup. Why are we led to believe this? The Second Sky Twitter Account is only following Porter and he has also made past statements about the two being operated independently from each other. Only time will tell, though.
