What was your first electronic music event?
Skrillex at the X-Games Aspen.
What/who influenced you to attend your first event?
I had been interested in EDM since I was in early high school, I can think of a specific list of songs (as I’m sure we all have) that really got me into EDM initially: Skrillex, Zeds Dead, Bassnectar, Rusko, Pretty Lights. It just wasn’t until college that I actually had friends into the same kind of music and found an opportunity to actually pursue that interest.
What is one moment from an event that was special and why?
Adventure Club at Red Rocks on my 20th birthday, May 8, 2015. I will NEVER forget this night. That was definitely the first time at a show that I felt so much love, the music and the people I was with, it was overwhelming in the best way. I’ve never been the same since that night and I’ll absolutely never forget it – the best night with the very best people in my life.
What is your favorite festival or event?
Unfortunately, I haven’t been to a lot of big fests but Basscenter was probably one of the greatest if not THE greatest feat I’ve ever been to, and decadence will always have a special place in my heart, so many good memories.
What is your favorite electronic song and why?
Dawn Golden – All I Want (Illenium Remix) or MisterWives – Reflections (Gryffin Remix) are the two that come to mind. These songs are just so emotional to me and never get old even after a billion times listening.
Who are your favorite artists?
Illenium, Zeds Dead, NGHTMRE, Slander, Bassnectar, 3LAU, Alison Wonderland, Ekali, Excision, Svdden Death, and YOOKiE just to name a few.
What are your favorite genres?
I can’t say I have found a genre that I dislike yet, but my favs are probably hardstyle, dubstep, electro-house, bass-house, and future bass.
What do you feel your “Identity” is in the electronic music community?
ALL about the music. I’m someone who couldn’t care what kind of music you’re into, even if it’s EDM or not, be truly passionate about the MUSIC, and you’re cool with me. I can’t stand stereotypes within the music industry. Love what you love and let other people love what they love. We’re all here for the same reason.
