Mastadon Makes Dubstep Angry Again & Drops Aggressive Single “Death Pit”

in Exclusive Premiere

Headbangers, get ready: Mastadon’s maniacal heavy bass tune “Death Pit” is bound to get necks snapping.

Being one of the youngest producers in the heavy bass scene, Sydney producer Mastadon is at the top of our list of dubstep DJs to keep an eye on. At only seventeen years old, Mastadon has received support from massive bass label Never Say Die and industry heavyweights Midnight Tyrannosaurus, Svdden Death, and YOOKiE. His latest release “Death Pit” is a savage blend of sadistic whomps and angry dubstep slashes, and we can’t get enough of it!

Earlier this year, Mastadon released a four-track EP titled Decimate, which we regarded as one of the gnarliest heavy dubstep EPs of 2018. Since then, he has proven he’s a force to be reckoned with. His gritty bass collaboration with Hekler, “Buggas” combines rapid-fire stabs and sharp rips of deafening silence – a trademark of other Never Say Die artists Trampa and SKisM. Released on Never Say Die: Black Label, “Death Pit” recklessly bulldozes through dubstep paradigms with no mercy.

Check out “Death Pit” today and stream or download the track on your favorite platform, and read on for more on Mastadon!

In October, Mastadon appeared on Wooli‘s EP Mammoth for a track titled “Elephant March”, and that’s exactly what it sounds like. Featuring both Wooli’s signature style and Mastadon’s taste for scrap metal shrieks of dubstep, the tune is the heaviest in the collection. More recently, the young dubstep prodigy released his blistering remix of Herobust‘s “WTF”, a rendition that’s been played in heavy bass sets across the country since its release.

Aside from putting out some sick collabs with other artists, he was recently signed on by United Talent Agency and is finally cleared to play U.S. shows. Seeing as how headbangers everywhere have been calling for a Mastadon set, we can only imagine just how many lineups we’ll see his name on in 2019.

We are proud to premiere “Death Pit” from Mastadon here at EDM Identity. Listen to his hot new track and let us know your thoughts in the comments!
