After a wildly successful inaugural event, the Electronic Music Awards announced it will be returning in 2018!
Last year the electronic world saw the debut of the Electronic Music Awards. This anti-award show set to celebrate the wide range of amazing sounds under the electronic music umbrella. Under the banner of “We’re All The Same On The Dance Floor”, the EM Awards showcased all about celebrating equality and excellence in electronic music.
The inaugural EM Awards was all about the music! This wasn’t an award show where the audience sat in formal wear and listened to speeches. Instead, fans were encouraged to attend in rave wear and comfortable clothes while listening to performances from the likes of Illenium, Moby, and my personal favorite, Orbital. There was even featured a section dubbed the “Detroit Dock” that was all about celebrating techno roots and featured the legendary Juan Atkins among others. To be honest, it was more of a mini-festival than an award show, this is what made it a magical experience.

This year EM Awards will return to Willow Studios in Los Angeles’ Downtown Arts District for its 2018 event and global broadcast on November 8.
It looks as though it is set to be live streamed again so everyone at home can participate in the festivities as well. Did you attend the show last year? Tell us what you thought of it!
