Welcome to The Landing, EDM Identity’s weekly post highlighting fresh tracks you may have missed!

Since the introduction of streaming sites like SoundCloud, YouTube, and Spotify, as well as release mediums like Bandcamp available for artists to release on, new music is hitting us faster than ever. The abundance of releases can almost be overwhelming, as the tools for production and releasing music are easily accessible for anyone around the world. We know that it is a difficult task to keep up with every release from every artist, so we’re here to assist you with some gems that “land” in our inboxes. In every edition of The Landing, we intend to highlight some tracks that you may have missed, or perhaps shine a light on new music for you to fall in love with.

This week’s edition of The Landing features fresh tracks from Highly Sedated, Sydney Blu, Gryffin, D.O.D., DJ Mofu, LNY TNZ, and Kadian!

The Landing || April 9-15, 2017

Last Call, but first on our list!

Highly Sedated – Website | Facebook | Twitter

Steve Angello does some really interesting things on his label Size Records.  This one – and it is a big one – is a great example.  Highly Sedated is a Swedish Electronic band that formed in 2015.  “Last Call” is their fourth single, and at times it will evoke some really big recollections of another Electronic super-group in Faithless.  One of the vocalists feels like a spitting image of Maxi Jazz’s vocals at times.  This is one of those dark songs that will bang dance floors from the early opening hours to the closing of the doors.  Expect this one to bang beautifully all season long!  Grab your copy here.

We got a house track and it is so Blu

Sydney Blu – Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud

Sydney Blu is one of those artists I absolutely adore. She is versatile, groovy, and has a proper attitude without a huge ego on her shoulders.  She’s chase her sound – whether it was early in her career or what she is up to right know.  What she’s got coming out on 21 April, called “Hella Dope,” lives up to its title.  The groove is tight on this one and compliments the chopped up vocals.  The roots of House are bearing fruit again as we jump into the growing festival season.  It’s got the sound to be infectious, to warm you up this Spring, and it is ready to conquer your ears.  Heck, it may truly be “Hella Dope.”

Don't Kill My Vibe
Listening to this track, nothing could possibly kill your vibe!

Gryffin –  Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud || Sigrid – Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud

Every now and then, a track grabs you by the heart and holds on tight, and that is certainly the case with Gryffin’s sweeping remix of Sigrid’s pop anthem “Don’t Kill My Vibe.” The full measure of Gryffin’s talents is on display in this harmonious take, which features an electric, rolling drumbeat punctuated by flowing piano chords that perfectly frame the vocal without overpowering it. This is the track that rocketed 20-year-old Norwegian pop sensation Sigrid to stardom earlier this year, becoming BBC Radio 1’s ‘Hottest Record in the World’ and amassing millions of plays on Spotify. She, in turn, enlisted American producer Gryffin for this sunny remix; a classically trained musician, Gryffin has put his signature twist on tracks by a wide variety of artists like Tove Lo and CHVRCHES, and most recently released the single “Feel Good” featuring Daya with Illenium.

Satisfy
If it’s a banger you seek, you need look no further.

D.O.D. – Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud

Dan O’Donnell, better known to fans and music aficionados as D.O.D., has been having one hell of a year. 2017 has already seen the release of two absolutely massive tracks for this UK-based producer, and both are sure to make any mainstage crowd go wild. “Satisfy,” his latest release via Steve Angello’s SIZE Records, features a series of infectious breakdowns with a looping, hypnotic vocal mixed throughout the track. Keep your ears peeled this festival season for this colossal tune to show up in some of your favorite DJs’ sets!

Horizons
And finally, here’s one for all the house heads out there…

Kadian – Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud || DJ Mofu –  Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud

For a little slice of classic house for your Friday, I give you “Horizons!” Produced by the team of Kadian and DJ Mofu, this track features a grooving bassline and vocal samples laced with attitude. Receiving support from the likes of Thomas Gold, Tough Love, and Max Vangeli, this underground house track is bound to keep you moving and shaking long into the night. I know that this one will be playing on repeat in my headphones throughout the weeks to come.

When genres blend into electronic bliss, it is magic

LNY TNZ – Website | Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud

LNY TNZ is a strange act.  Take one part Hard Dance, House, a smattering of Big Room, and oh… some strange melodies… and you get their sound.  There’s a chaos to what they do that doesn’t always grab me… but lord almighty, sometimes it creates so really cool things.  “Set You Free” features the vocal styles of Jantine, and is now out on Big & Dirty Records, and I think the vocals are poised to blend boundaries all summer long.  The Hpoisednce kick I expect from LNY TNZ is there – but it never goes too crazy. and pushes the track along beautifully.  Tempo changes, energy morphs, and a new blend really makes the track something different.  I mean… I’ll just leave the lyrics to the chorus below… they sum it up quite well:

“I hear your heart screaming | Losing all time and space| You’ll feel my knees weaken | Waiting to cut the breaks || Oh I could be the one to set you free | Oh I could be the one to set you free”
