What was your first electronic music event?

LovEvolution 2009

What/who influenced you to attend your first event?

My college roommate up in Chico asked if I wanted to go to San Francisco for the weekend, so I said sure why not. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. We show up to the Civic Center and it was a CRAZY party. Art cars, music, food trucks, the whole shebang… I had never seen anything like it. We saw there was an afterparty. Tickets were available at the door and it’s all history from there. :)

What is one moment from an event that was special and why?

My first year at Burning Man, I was on my way to go visit my friends camp when I got stopped by an older guy wearing pink furry pants and a top hat at a camp called The Fucking Flamingos. He tells me that I look like I need a drink… so I obviously stopped at their bar. Time goes by and he found out it was my first time at the burn so he goes “Let’s go on an adventure!” and I’m like “Yeeee let’s do it!” He showed me a side to Burning Man I have never would have experienced unless someone who has been going for a long time were to show you. We explored some more and as we get to the trash fence a white out happens. So all we can do is follow the music we could hear in the distance because you could barely see a few feet in front of you. We finally reach the music and end up at Carl Cox’s day party and raged by a giant inflatable castle stage while the man himself was on the tables. AWESOME! Ever since then I have loved flamingos and will never forget that awesome experience.

What is your favorite festival or event?

That’s a tough one… but gotta love EDC. The one in LA back in 2010 was one of the best weekends of my life. That festival always gives me the best memories.

I also love the Desert Hearts crew. They really know how to throw a party. CRSSD Festival is amazing too. The location is prime and you gotta love that main stage set up.

And of course… gotta love the Burn…craziest, wildest, weirdest place. You learn a lot about yourself and there really isn’t anything like it.

What is your favorite electronic song and why?

“Never Say Never” by Armin Van Buuren. That song gives me the FEELS!

Who are your favorite artists?

Kaskade is the man, he never disappoints me. Also, Amtrac is a boss. I really miss old school Chuckie too (I like the way you move it the drum!). Oh yeah, can’t forget Above & Beyond.

What are your favorite genres?

I like to go “von deeper” and listen to deep house. I love to get down to that dirty dutch house. Sometimes I like to put my trance pants on. I like it all honestly. :)

What do you feel your “Identity” is in the electronic music community?

I am almost an entertainer I guess. I always have some sort of accessory like inflatable flamingos along with flamingo cup holders. Usually I’ll bring extra and pass them out to people. I like to make people laugh and have a good time with me.

Is there anything else you would like to add about yourself for the readers?

I have mermaid hair and like to change up the color often. I love to make crazy costumes and dress up… oh yeah and I LOVE GLITTER AND ANYTHING SPARKLY! <3
