SnowGlobe 2016 Set Times, Festival Map, & More!

With the holiday season in full swing, the best part of the holidays (in my opinion) is fast approaching–SnowGlobe Music Festival! Returning for it’s 6th year in a row, SnowGlobe is going to be the perfect way to close out 2016 and ring in the new year. With news of an expanded venue and improved set up, I can’t wait to see what the festival looks like this year. Despite the cold, the vibes at SnowGlobe are unmatched–I’m counting down the days until I get to be back with some great people in the snowy winter wonderland.

SnowGlobe 2016 Festival and Parking Maps

The SnowGlobe festival map has not been released yet, but we will update the information as it becomes available. SnowGlobe did announce that they are expanding the festival grounds and released a graphic showing the new boundaries. The 3 stages will be more spread out and attendees can expect the typical amenities (i.e. restrooms, water stations, food and drink, art installations, lockers, etc.)

If you plan on driving your own vehicle daily parking will be available 12/29-12/31 at South Tahoe Middle School for $30. Parking lot hours are 1:00 PM – 1:00 AM on 12/29 and 12/30 and 1:00 PM – 2:30 AM on 12/31. The middle school is located at 2940 Lake Tahoe Blvd. A 10-minute walk from the festival entrance! Remember these are not overnight parking spaces! Find more parking and shuttle info on the SnowGlobe website!

Weather Forecast

As of right now, the weather is looking beautiful for the first 2 days of SnowGlobe; however, there is a 40% chance of rain on New Years Eve. Mostly sunny and little chance of precipitation will make for the best snowy conditions we could ask for. With highs around 51 and lows around 23, make sure to wear lots of layers to prepare for the warmer temps during the day and chillier temps at night! Stay updated with weather conditions, here, as they can change very quickly!

Reminder To Mind Your Belongings

Unfortunately, many people have reported pickpockets, bag slashings, and theft of wallets, smartphones, purses and other valuables during this festival season. While this small number of bad apples in the bunch doesn’t define an entire crowd, there are opportunistic people who come to these events to take advantage of unsuspecting party goers and it’s important to be mindful of your valuables while at SnowGlobe.

Pay attention to who’s around you and what’s going on around you. Keep your wallet and phone in your front pocket(s) if you can. Treat your phone the same way you would treat cash; don’t set it down on a table or bar and look away. If a friend isn’t standing behind you in a crowd, be careful of your backpack or purse, and don’t put valuables in a pocket that could easily be unzipped by someone behind in a crowded spot without you realizing.

SnowGlobe, and festivals in general, are a very densely populated place, and are a well-known place where pick-pocketing of unsuspecting people occurs. It’s easy to find yourself in a crowded environment in a line, inside the festival, elevator, or even out on the street where someone could slip your wallet or phone our of your pocket or bag in a matter of seconds. Stay alert, be careful, and make sure to not carry more than what you need!
