SnowGlobe is closing in, and with a stacked lineup it is definitely a difficult task to figure out who to see during the festival. Check out Grace’s picks today!
There is less than a week until I head up to Tahoe for three days filled with music, friends, and good vibes, my excitement for the festival is building more and more. More than anything, I can’t wait to see some of my favorite artists play some once in a lifetime sets in the snow. Check out my top artists to watch out for this year at SnowGlobe!
Grace’s Must-See Artists at SnowGlobe 2016:
Big Gigantic
I can’t wait to get down with Big G’s funky vibes! Their jazzy style filled with the sax, drums, heavy bass, and feel good vocals is unmatched. Anyone walking past main stage when Big Gigantic is playing won’t be able to resist these good vibes. They released their new album, “Brighter Future,” just a couple of months ago that features the likes of Waka Flocka Flame, Cherub, and ROZES. Their song with GRiZ, “Good Times Roll,” never fails to get me dancing along no matter where I am–can’t wait to hear it live!
RL Grime
RL Grime single handedly introduced me to trap music when I found myself at his set at Hard Summer 2015, and he has been one of my absolute favorite artists ever since. He is the king of festivals in my eyes, no one does it better than him! His tracks like “Kingpin,” “Bitches Love Sosa,” and “Core” are played out in countless other artist’s sets, but hearing them from RL himself is always something special. While he does have some fun, crazy trap music, songs like “Because of U” have truly beautiful melodies that prove that he is so much more than music to party to–he has incredible talent. Playing at 5:30PM on Day 1, his is the first big main stage set of the festival, and no one could kick it off better than RL in my opinion!

Lido
I just recently discovered Lido when his debut album, “Everything,” dropped a couple months ago. The album, telling the emotional journey of his breakup, completely blew me away. Tracks like “Murder,” “Crazy,” and “Catharsis” have been on repeat, perfectly combining eerily soft, beautiful moments with passionate harder bass drops. His song-writing and production skills are second to none, I’m so intrigued to see what his live set will be like.
Snails
I’m always a fan of a good set that I can go insane to and Snails never fails to deliver in that department! His set a Freaky Deaky didn’t let up for one minute, he hit us again and again with his heavy “vomitstep” drops. If you need to let off some steam and dance your butt off this is the place to be. Needless to say, I’m excited to get “Snailed” again Thursday night.
Brasstracks
I first heard of Brasstracks when their remix of “Weight in Gold” came out about a year ago. Since then, I’ve been an avid listener to their new “Good Love EP,” and this past weekend I saw them at Grizmas playing the horns back to back with GRiZ throughout the show. These guys are incredible musicians, putting on exceptional live performances that incorporate horns and drums into their DJ sets. This year they even collaborated with Chance the Rapper, making the beat for his Grammy-nominated song, “No Problem.” While I got a taste of their live set during Griz, I can’t wait to see what a full Brasstracks performance will be like. Their newest song, “Whirlwind,” just dropped this week and got me even more pumped to see them at SnowGlobe.
ODESZA
My prayers were answered and ODESZA is officially playing the midnight slot on New Year’s Eve! I can’t think of a better way to end 2016 and ring in the new year. It’ll be the perfect set to reflect on the past year and make memories surrounded by friends old and new. Since the huge success of their song “Say My Name,” the production duo has gone nowhere but up, releasing their widely acclaimed album “In Return” and playing shows and festivals across the world. Their live sets are absolutely magical, the two playing the drums and pianos throughout and incorporating beautiful nature-inspired visuals.
