SIDEPIECE Drops Aluna Collab Alongside New Label Launch

SIDEPIECE officially launches their new imprint, Lip Service, with “Misbehave” featuring Aluna, a collaboration that captures the label’s vision in earnest.

Dylan Ragland and Ricky Mears, who produced bass music under their aliases Party Favor and NITTI, created house music magic when they first teamed up as SIDEPIECE in 2019. Famous for their playful lyrics and infectiously groovy beats, they have released dozens of songs built for those late nights on the dancefloor. Now, the duo is paving the way for the next generation of house artists with the launch of their new label, Lip Service, meant to serve as the home for fresh, forward-thinking house music.

They quietly put out a string of releases on Lip Service last summer, such as “Cash Out” with Bobby Shmurda and “Take Your Places” with Westend, plus a tech-house reimagining of September’s “Cry For You.” But “Misbehave” with Aluna marks the official start of this next chapter in SIDEPIECE’s career as label owners.

“We had always wanted to work with Aluna, and the stars aligned last Spring when we got to get in with her in the studio. It was really fun to blend our two sounds together,” SIDEPIECE said. “We have loved playing this song out, and the reaction has been amazing every time. We are very excited for it to be finally out and for the rest of the world to hear it.”

As their first single of 2026, “Misbehave” embodies what SIDEPIECE is building with their new label. With Aluna’s smooth and luscious vocals and SIDEPIECE’s crisp, groove-driven production, the track is fun to listen to and even more fun to bop to.

This song is built for the clubs, so stream “Misbehave” on Spotify or your preferred platform, and follow Lip Service on Instagram to see what music the label releases next.

Jaclyn Sersland

Jaclyn’s journey as a raver began in 2022, but her obsession with music dates back to her middle school days as an angsty emo kid. A firm believer in the emo to raver pipeline, she has found a strong sense of community in the rave scene united by a common ethos of PLUR and a shared love for heavy basslines. A longtime writer and now Master’s in Journalism student at Georgetown University, Jaclyn is passionate about using her voice to spotlight the EDM scene. In particular, she enjoys writing about drum and bass, the number 1 favorite genre of hers, although her music taste spans wide so you will catch her byline on many types of stories. Her favorite artists are Andromedik, Sub Focus, Dimension, GRiZ, Oliverse, Illenium, Grabbitz, Zedd, Basstripper, Subsonic, and more.
