PAIMON’s Anhedonia serves as the inaugural release for EATBRAIN’s milestone year, getting ears ready for what the label has in store for the anniversary.
PAIMON is setting the stage for EATBRAIN’s 15-year anniversary with his newest release, Anhedonia. One of the founding members of the trio Teddy Killerz, he’s returned to his solo alias to wreak havoc on the masses with a sinister blend of heavy bass and neurofunk. In just four-tracks, PAIMON takes listeners on a dark and gritty journey of high-octane dancefloor weapons and festival heaters.
The EP as a whole is full of haunting vocals, bleak soundscapes, and aggressive basslines. PAIMON’s signature complex sound design is at the forefront, as is his sinister neurofunk aesthetic.
Each track encapsulates the carefully crafted darkness he worked so hard to create and fits the theme and definition of Anhedonia perfectly. “Higher” and “Utopia” feature driving energy that is crisp and smooth thanks to PAIMON’s precise production. “Dream to me” and “Cries” move toward rawer textures, with distorted bass and unfiltered sound design. All songs blend gritty tech-step with modern neurofunk, embodying PAIMON’s technical prowess within the genre and EATBRAIN’s apocalyptic atmosphere.
Anhedonia is the dark revival for which everyone’s been waiting. Delivering an EP full of heavy neurofunk, PAIMON starts 2026 with a blistering bang. It’s the perfect first release in celebration of Eatbrain’s anniversary as Anhedonia leaves you excited and wanting more from the label. If this is how Eatbrain is kicking off their 15th year, I can only imagine how dark and dangerous the next few months will be.
Anhedonia is available for streaming exclusively on Spotify, or you can download a copy on Beatport. Keep an eye on EATBRAIN’s socials to see what’s coming next for the label’s 15th anniversary.
