#TBT || ATB ft. Dash Berlin – Apollo Road

This week’s #ThrowbackThursday is ATB’s massive collaboration with Dash Berlin, “Apollo Road” from 2011!

It was FIVE years ago that ATB and Dash Berlin came together on a track that would take the trance community by storm. Released on ATB’s album ‘Distant Earth’ in 2011, “Apollo Road” was a massive hit with fans of both artists. Beginning with soothing piano notes, the track quickly picks up the pace and introduces electronic elements that put you directly into dreamland. The breakdown for the track is heavy and really drives it forward, taking you on an uplifting trance journey. As a fan of ATB, I honestly think that this was one of his best tracks released, and definitely a favorite of mine off the ‘Distant Earth’ album.

To make the track more interesting, Dash Berlin went on to mash it up with “DJ Ease My Mind” and made the track even more powerful. There is just something about Niki The Dove’s lyrics that fit perfectly with the track and bring a new emotional element to it as a whole that wasn’t there in the instrumental. Both the mashup and original versions are included in trance playlists I create to this day.
