RÜFÜS DU SOL is in the midst of their global tour, and their sold-out show at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Colorado saw everyone “dress to express.”
There’s nothing quite like getting to see an act like RÜFÜS DU SOL live, even Kevin Hart can agree. Once the three of them take the stage, it’s as if they breathe air into your lungs. One might say they help you Inhale / Exhale, as the name of their album and conjoined tour suggests. If you’ve been to a show, you know what we’re talking about—that feeling, euphoria, as addictive as your favorite vice.
I’ve been waiting patiently for my chance to see RÜFÜS DU SOL live, and I was fortunate to attend one of their last stops on the tour just outside of Denver at the DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado. The joy of knowing the first time I’d see them would be at an outdoor venue was the cherry on top; it just seems wrong to catch this beloved trio within a confined space.
The staff, venue, and artists are always pretty predictable when it comes to shows, but the one thing that can make or break a night is the crowd you share the moments with. I’ve had my fair share of good crowds and bad, but this one had a whole different feeling. You could tell everyone there had been healed by RÜFÜS DU SOL one way or another. There was a glow on every face present that radiated the truth behind that statement, which only further proved that the trio attracts the most beautiful people to their shows.

When you look good, you feel good, and I’m pretty sure every single person in that arena felt incredible.
I was fortunate to go with my best friend to this show; we were so stoked to see one of our favorite artists together. We decided this was a “dress to express” kind of night, and without planning it, we both organically wore yellow. Looking back, it feels fitting. RÜFÜS DU SOL has healed us both during times we needed it most, and yellow radiates that feeling of warmth.
Upon arrival, it was clear that the rest of the attendees had the same thought, to “dress to express.” From pearls draped over silk to fitted Levi’s with freshly pressed white tees, this crowd came prepared to look like a summer outfit mood board. Who would have thought that songs filled with growth and life experience could inspire confidently dressed humans? It’s also no surprise that one of the most stylish trios in the electronic music scene has a crowd that also loves to share a piece of who they are through textiles.

Musical energy is powerful, and RÜFÜS DU SOL has some of the strongest frequencies out there.
Beauty isn’t just based on what you wear; it’s also about what’s on the inside. Yes, that may sound cliché, but energy transferring is a real thing, and that arena was vibrating. While looking around throughout the night, I only witnessed happiness. When there were tears, it was tears of hope and healing.
What healed them, you may ask? Just listen to “Alive” or “Innerbloom” and imagine yelling the lyrics at the top of your lungs with an entire sold-out arena. The number of smiles, giggles, hugs, and happy dancing wiggles was limitless. It felt like we were all meant to be there, not a single soul less.

Music heals, and RÜFÜS DU SOL are the medicine men of electronic music.
Music as pure and uplifting from RÜFÜS DU SOL deserves a crowd to match. And although I’ve only been blessed to catch only one stop on this tour, I would bet my last dollar that attendees from across the globe would agree. Everything was perfect, from the timeless, relatable lyrics to the emotive live instrumentals. Speaking of which, witnessing James Hunt on the drums live was as awe-inspiring as I imagined, especially when he played his drum solo from “Desert Night.”
Through and through, this night was just as magical as the artists, the staff, and the fans in attendance. Thank you, RÜFÜS DU SOL, for sharing your art with the world; it shines a lot brighter because of you, and so do your listeners.
