Avoure’s Halo EP sees the beloved progressive house artist finalize a track he’d worked on for seven years.
Those who have fallen in love with the sounds of progressive house over the past decade will certainly have stumbled upon Avoure at some point in their journey. This Ukrainian DJ and producer first began to turn heads with his releases on labels like This Never Happened and Anjunabeats, but also found a home on Spinnin’ Deep and Colorize along the way. In recent years, he has grown his imprint, Biome Recordings, and that’s where he landed one of his biggest releases on the label yet, the two-track Halo EP.
The titular track is one that Avoure has been working and reworking for years, that’s finally seen the light of day. “I wrote Halo over 7 years ago,” he said in a post on Instagram. “It’s been through so many versions, almost got lost forever… and now, it finally found its moment.” The final version of “Halo” starts with soft tones that guide into deep, distant vocals, but once the main beat kicks in, you’ll find yourself hypnotized by its progressive groove.
The second track, “Renaissance,” cuts an even deeper groove, with percussion and pulsing synths prominent from the start. As you immerse yourself further in the soundscape and the beat swells, you’ll be met with layers of piano notes, vocals, and atmospheric chords that coalesce to make it perfect for late nights on the dancefloor.
In the same post about “Halo,” Avoure teased that “something important” was coming with the release, giving longtime fans hope that a debut album or run of shows might be on the horizon. This EP follows a string of releases from the Ukrainian artist this year, including the Essence EP and two tracks with Haxxy, “Vivid Dreams” and “Like U.”
