Chippy Nonstop Teaches Us How to "Talk Shit" on New Release

All jokes aside, the global rave scene continues to push boundaries—and it’s the women who are setting the pace. One of these leaders is Chippy Nonstop, who released her latest two-tracker, Famous / Talk Shit, via HARD RECS.

Chippy Nonstop is known pretty unanimously for her infectious vibe and pure, innate love for rave and rave culture. That level of pure happiness behind the decks cannot be faked. She’s making her presence known in the scene and wants to contribute to the ever-changing culture.

This is sonically evident on Famous / Talk Shit. The two-tracker is a relentless onslaught of machine noises, throbbing production, and ’90s-esque techno and hard house. On the title track, Chippy Nonstop comments on the irony and double-edged sword of fame. She can be heard, almost in a mocking, comical tone, stating, “It’s just so hard being fun and wild. It’s just so hard being one of a kind.”

The second track, “Talk Shit,” feels like an episode of Skins. This one slows things down just a bit but ramps up the sex appeal. Lyrically, it’s an ode to the secrets embedded within the walls of the girls’ club bathroom. Boys, you just wouldn’t get it.

Famous / Talk Shit is a feisty new addition to Chippy Nonstop’s electro-punk-meets-hot-girl discography, and she continues to prove that she has nothing to prove. She does her thing for no one other than herself and the dance floor, and it doesn’t get more rave than that.
