Paxahau has curated a next-level experience for the 25th Anniversary of Movement Detroit.
Techno enthusiasts and aficionados will be beaming throughout Hart Plaza as the raw spirit and roots of Detroit techno — and it’s various flavors — will be showcased across six stages. The lineup for Movement Detroit is befitting for the celebration of its 25th year.
During the extended Memorial Day Weekend, more than 115 artists will perform at the beloved, techno-centric gathering. Artists like DJ Minx, Stacey “Hotwaxx” Hale, Seth Troxler, and Sama’ Abdulhadi are returning to the festival grounds, having achieved legendary status as must-see performers. Fans seeking a harder, high-energy experience should get to the stage early for Sara Landry, FJAAK, Nina Kraviz, Klangkuenstler, and Michigan-native Henry Brooks.
Looking for more of a mainstream vibe? Check out John Summit, MK, Sammy Virji, Walker & Royce, Mau P, and Horsegiirl. Fans of live hardware sets should add Cobblestone Jazz, Jon Dixon, Mark Broom, Shawn Rudiman, and Shigeto Live Ensemble to their schedule in the official Movement app. Lastly, closing performances by Jeff Mills, Charlotte de Witte, and Ricardo Villalobos must not be missed!
In addition to its rich representation of Detroit’s musical energy, this year’s festival highlights the city’s significant history of arts and culture through their Respect The Architects exhibit near the Underground stage, and the Artist in Residence program, a collaboration with Detroit-based 1XRun. Graffiti artist and drum and bass icon Goldie will fulfill his role as this year’s Artist in Residence — creating a large mural near the Pyramid Stage entitled Love: Detroit — before an eagerly awaited b2b set with Photek.
There’s a lot to remember, so we’ve put together a guide ahead of the event. Keep reading for set times, prohibited and permitted items, and more!

Reminder to Mind Your Belongings:
Unfortunately, many recent festival-goers have reported pickpockets, bag slashings, and theft of wallets, smartphones, purses, and other valuables. While this small number of bad apples in the bunch doesn’t define an entire crowd, some opportunistic people come to these events to take advantage of unsuspecting partygoers. It’s essential to be mindful of your valuables while at Movement.
