RAVE NEW WORLD isn’t just Jessica Audiffred’s debut album; it’s a love letter to the experiences she’s had in the scene since she was young.
One of Mexico’s hottest exports in the electronic music scene is Jessica Audiffred, and she’s continued to impress with each passing year with her genre-defying style and electric live sets. Since taking her first steps as an artist, she’s done everything from taking the stage at major festivals to releasing countless tracks and EPs that have turned heads. Now, Jessica Audiffred has crossed another milestone off her list with the release of her debut album, RAVE NEW WORLD.
Out now on her label, A Records, RAVE NEW WORLD clocks in at 12 tracks, all of which are rooted in Jessica Audiffred’s early experiences in the scene. She shared that she had first started attending raves with her brother when she was young and had “developed an obsession with trance music and the way chords made [her] feel.” She continued exploring, which led to her discovering techno and dubstep, adding more influences to the artist she’s become today.
“My love for music grew so much that I wanted to be part of it, though it never crossed my mind that I could become a DJ and tour the world because of it,” Jessica Audiffred shared. “This album is an ode to those early rave experiences and everything good they’ve brought to my life. Raving is like a comfort zone for me, and I know it’s the same for many ravers around the world – a place to escape.”
While every track offers plenty of dubstep-fueled bass moments, those influences run deep throughout its tracks. This is heard from the jump on the lead tune “Keloke,” which sees Jessica Audiffred team up with urboi. for a ride that features rave stabs and atmospheric vocals while still kicking you in the teeth with its drops. Another prime example is “Rave On” with chae, which opens with trancey synths and gorgeous vocals before the backing beat builds the energy to its festival-mainstage-ready drop.
Other standouts that arrive throughout the album include “Afterparty” with Nostalgix for its intoxicating bass house vibes and “I Wanna Be Free” with Leah Culver, which delivers a dose of drum and bass. If an onslaught of bass is what your heart desires, put on Jessica Audiffred’s collaboration with JEANIE and Dani King, “Unleashed,” or have some fun while bumping around to the modernized classic “Around The World (La La La)” with SampliFire.
