A.M.C Showcases Masterful Production Skills on ‘X12’

Drum and bass icon A.M.C drops his X12 album featuring tracks such as “Liftoff,” “Nightmare,” “Run!,” “There in 10,” and more.

New Music Fridays just got a whole lot more exciting for drum and bass heads who woke up on March 14 to new releases from some of the hottest names in that scene right now, such as Sub Focus, Netsky and Andromedik, Basstripper, and Alix Perez and Visages. One of these releases comes from the UK-based DJ and producer A.M.C, revered for his masterful mixing skills and strong attention to technicality.

Today, the drum and bass titan dropped his third album, X12, featuring 12 tracks that give listeners a cohesive listening experience. The album is a testament to A.M.C’s relentless energy and innovative sound design that have become hallmarks of his career. The album kicks off with “Run!” which immediately sets the tone for the rest of the album’s high energy and intensity.

A.M.C ventures beyond his signature drum and bass sounds and delves into the realm of house music with “Let Me Tell You SMTH,” showcasing his versatility as an artist while staying true to his signature heavy beats and technical sound design. A.M.C took to his Instagram to offer fans insight into the stories behind most of the album’s tracks. For “Let Me Tell You SMTH,” A.M.C said this tune was written for a Microsoft advertisement years ago that went unused. “I’ve always loved this tune and also the weird way you can approach writing house music,” he said before stating that he was always told his house music “sounds too much like drum and bass.”

One of the biggest standouts on X12 is “Liftoff” which mimics the vibes of a rocket launching into space before leading into a heavy-hitting drop that feels like teleporting into an intergalactic Star Wars fighting sequence. Other tracks that will impress listeners include “2 Much,” where the mantra “too much jump up, time to switch up,” humorously repeats throughout the drop. Meanwhile, the titular track features vocals from MC Phantom who accompanies A.M.C on many live DJ sets at festivals and shows worldwide.

Listen to A.M.C’s new album, X12, on Spotify or your preferred platform to dive into the journey.
