What was your first electronic music event?
Probably the first one I can remember the name of was Life in Color, San Diego this year. I used to go to small events when I was younger and living in Alaska but can not remember what they were titled or if they even had one.
What/who influenced you to attend your first event?
My friend and I got free passes and I haven’t been to one since I moved back from Alaska. My three best friends and I went and it was amazing!
What is one moment from an event that was special and why?
We had already signed up to go to EDC for the first time that year and at Life in Color we met these two amazing gentlemen who ended up staying with us for the first half of the event. Turned out they were from Orange County and were also going to EDC, one of them for the first time as well, and they ALSO happened to be staying in the same hotel! We ended up losing them throughout the event but found them again as we walked out. We met up with them at EDC multiple times and are great friends till this day. They’re coming down to visit here shortly.
What is your favorite festival or event?
So far, obviously, EDC20 was by far the most amazing experience I’ve ever had. I met so many people who I still talk to till this day and I bonded with my friends on that trip so much we have nicknamed ourselves the “Sparkle Princess Squad” because we leave a trail of glitter everywhere we go.
What is your favorite electronic song and why?
Deorro’s “Five Hours” has always been a great one, I used it to pump up any occasion but the new Zomboy remix with The Chainsmokers’ “Don’t Let Me Down” is a very close second.
Who are your favorite artists?
Zomboy, The Chainsmokers, DJ Snake, Marshmello, Deorro, Bassjackers, Martin Garrix, and YellowClaw! I mean and a bunch more but those will do for now.
What are your favorite genres?
I like the real dirty music like Zomboy; its definitely my favorite but nothing wrong with Dreamstate-feels now and again. I like to mix it up, but the more bass the better I always say.
What do you feel your “Identity” is in the electronic music community?
In our “Sparkle Princess Squad” we trade off roles, sometimes we are Rave-Mommy and running around taking care of everyone, and sometimes I’m the socializer where I like to get to know everyone and bring a big group all together. I saw YellowClaw in L.A. recently and walked in with my 2 friends and walked out with a group of like 15 from all over.
Is there anything else you would like to add about yourself for the readers?
I just like wearing at least one piece of Kandi everywhere I go because the Raver Community is so large and you would be surprised who is out there and the people you are likely to meet. I have had some of the best conversations with people sparking from my Kandi I wear daily.
