Seba Sets for Stun on Latest Album, 'Oni'

**Legendary drum and bass artist Seba displays his dynamic nature with the gorgeous tunes found on his newest album, Oni.**

Swedish DJ and producer Seba is one of the best in the drum and bass scene and has been for nearly three decades. He’s continued to be at the forefront of the community with forward-thinking soundscapes that have found a home on numerous labels while heading up his own, Secret Operations. For his latest album, Oni, which is available now on all platforms, Seba looked to another industry stalwart, BCee, and his label Spearhead, to be the home for the release.

Steve (BCee) and I talked a long time about doing an album for Spearhead, and after my 2022 album ‘Ingaro’ on my own label Secret Operations, it was about time to put another album together. Since my musical direction is quite diverse, with releases ranging from Hospital Records to Function Records, I thought it would be good to do an album that reflects that diversity. This album has a bit of jungle, drum and bass, liquid, some darkness, and some smoothness. All blended together with my signature sounds.

Singles “Project” with Sapele and “Smoke” helped set the tone for the dynamic soundscapes found on Oni. Now that it’s been released for the world to hear, fans can dive deeper into even more masterfully crafted soundscapes on tunes like “Air,” “Easy” with Robert Manos, “Flow,” and “Fake.”

Those hunting for some serious standouts will love the three-track ride that happens just after the album’s halfway point. “Slam,” “Three,” and “Solace” all showcase different sides of Seba. “Slam” opens with a repeated siren-like vocal that washes over the ears before the punchy, stripped-back percussion kicks into full gear. “Three” puts Seba’s more atmospheric side on display with its soft breakbeat and lighter, airy synths. Then, “Solace” kicks the energy back into gear with a liquid groove that’s buttery smooth and vocals that pang deep in the soul.
