Tech house juggernaut Matroda continues his hot streak and showcases his signature sound in his new EP, Late Night Talks.
Croatian superstar DJ and producer Matroda has used his unique sound to propel him and his record label Terminal Underground to a massive 2024 so far. Getting mainstage time at festivals like EDC Las Vegas, Hard Summer, and EDC Orlando, he uses the sound of his recognizable basslines to energize crowds with some of his hits like “Can’t Fight The Feeling,” “Gimme Some Keys,” and “Saturday Love.”
On his latest EP, Late Nights Talks, his signature Matroda sound, and perfection of the tech house genre is on full display in seven groovy tracks that will for sure be played at clubs and festivals in the coming months.
The EP starts with “Britney,” a tune that Matroda debuted for the first time at EDC Las Vegas this year. Dances provides the vocals for the track, and he does an excellent job with his time to shine, helping guide listeners to each energetic drop.
In two new tracks, “Came To The Club” and “Down” with INDECK., Matroda uses minimal vocals and lets the funky bass do the talking, creating high-energy soundscapes that will get your feet and body moving. This energy is also captured in “When The Bass Kicks In,” where Matroda and fellow Terminal Underground member Teko create a blissful tech house banger combining a catchy pulsating beat and simple yet satisfying vocals.
On “4U,” Matroda teams up with Martin Ikin and Sian-Lee and samples the iconic beat from Beyonce and Jay Z‘s hit song “Crazy In Love.” The euphoric sound of the “Crazy in Love” drop, along with Sian-Lee’s vocals, is a match made in heaven in one of the EP’s best tracks. Then, Matroda does his own spin on the 1966 classic “You Keep Me Hangin’ On” by The Supremes with “Hangin’ On.” In this one, he beautifully mixes the classic vocals with his signature deep-cutting basslines, blurring the lines between old school and new.
Matroda finishes the EP with the third new track, “Naughty Sax.” What makes this tune different from the rest is the masterful use of a horn that gives the song more of a Latin house feel, a style that Matroda is no stranger to.
From start to finish, Late Night Talks is some of Matroda’s best work and makes great use of all its features. Blending his electric sound and style with a bit of some old-school flair, this EP has something for everyone to enjoy.
