Singer-songwriter HAYLA delights with her highly anticipated first full length album, solidifying her as a powerhouse solo act.

When thinking of electronic vocalists who have made their mark through collaborations, London-based singer-songwriter HAYLA is top of mind. Lending her vocals on tracks by high-profile DJs such as John Summit, Kygo, Wilkinson, and Kx5, she has been at the forefront of some of the most significant electronic songs in recent years. Making a step from an in-demand collaborator to a full-blown solo act, HAYLA now solidifies her identity as an independent act on her first full-length album, DUSK.

HAYLA’s debut album features the recognizable and alluring vocals we have come to love while featuring a slew of producers who have helped bring her vision to life. The ten-track effort sees the powerful vocalist get vulnerable as she tackles themes of self-worth as well as love lost and won.

The opening track “Only I” is a surprising collaboration with dubstep producer Blanke. HAYLA’s soulful vocals soar over the somber motif as she comes to terms with losing the love she once had. “Freefall,” a single from the album, is an emotional progressive house tune standing out from the pack as a radio-ready hit.

“Fall Again” is an anthemic track featuring HAYLA’s signature belts as she tackles the possibility of rekindling with an old flame after finding the power within herself. The light and airy vocals on “Unfold” enchant listeners as HAYLA creates a dreamlike state in which to explore her critical nature when it comes to self-image.

Rounding out the album, the title track, “Dusk,” is a first for HAYLA as she flexes her music production talents for the first time. Completely written, produced, and recorded by the singer-songwriter, the experimental single is intended to be listened to at its namesake time of evening. A welcome surprise, the instrumentals and vocal swells perfectly wrap up her debut album, which has defined HAYLA as a force to be reckoned with.
