Tycho turns back to electronic-based productions for the release of his latest stunning album, Infinite Health, out now via Mom + Pop/Ninja Tune.

Grammy Award-nominated artist Tycho has solidified himself as one of the most forward-thinking producers in the electronic music scene. From the gorgeous soundscapes found on his albums to captivating live performances, he’s continued to prove his prowess while constantly evolving his style. Now, Tycho has released his latest body of work for the world to bask in, Infinite Health.

Tycho teamed up with his bandmate Zac Brown and Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor to bring the nine tracks on Infinite Health to life. According to him, this album “is about hope for the future and a requiem for the past,” with each soundscape found inside filled with depth.

I kept thinking back to the high-water mark scene in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, the author sitting at a typewriter looking out a window onto his past, trying to find meaning in the chaos. Infinite Health is about creating a space for reflection, a mantra for spiritual, emotional, and physical healing. Ultimately, all we really have is our health – both physical and mental – and we wish infinite health to our family and friends. So in those ways, infinite health is a salutation and an imperative.

“Phantom” led the charge for Infinite Health with its Italo-Disco-infused and ’80s ambiance elements in tow. Subsequent singles “Devices” and “Green” arrived in July to help show off the duality found on the album, with the former offering gorgeous synth lines and a futuristic feel while the latter offers chilled-out guitar strings over a subtle drum beat.

The newly unveiled tunes offer plenty more for listeners to explore. “Consciousness Felt” kicks the album off with a solid groove and breakbeat that’s perfect for driving down the road on a summer day. “Restraint” is a lounge-ready gem that you won’t be able to help yourself from adding to your chillout playlist. Meanwhile, “Totem” contrasts with a more upbeat, vibrant atmosphere that picks up the pace, with Tycho stating they intended to pay homage to the style of Daft Punk and Justice. It’s an absolute stunner.

Cautious Clay is the sole vocalist featured on Infinite Health and graces the album’s title track. But he wasn’t the only artist who joined in on the fun, as Tycho chopped up drum breaks from Kaelin Ellis over the swirling melodies and psychedelic elements. Play this track if you’re looking for a glimpse into the pure creativity that Tycho brings to his productions; you’ll fall in love immediately.
