SOFI TUKKER has canceled their run of European appearances this month as Tucker continues to battle a bad case of strep throat and exhaustion.
One duo that has been dominating the stages of festivals and clubs post-pandemic is SOFI TUKKER. They catapulted themselves into the homes of many with their consistent live streams and transitioned back into playing in front of thousands seamlessly while also releasing albums like WET TENNIS along the way. This incredible run from SOFI TUKKER has been put on pause for the moment, though, as today they broke the news that they’re canceling their European shows due to Tucker continuing to fight an illness.
“For over a month now, I have been struggling with (what I recently learned) was strep throat,” Tucker shared in the statement that was posted on social media. “I have taken antibiotics multiple times, but it continues to come back after each course. We think this is due to my auto immune problems… with my body being unable to fully get rid of the infection.”
Tucker went on to share that he’s also been dealing with extreme exhaustion and that the only way he’ll be able to get better is “to take some time off from touring.” Tucker anticipates that he’ll be back in action after three to four weeks of rest, and he assured fans that they’ll be back in Europe soon. The duo was set to play festivals like Colours of Ostrava in the Czechia, Mad Cool Festival in Spain, Gurten Festival in Switzerland, and Open’er Festival in Poland.
SOFI TUKKER has upcoming dates in North America, including Deep Tropics and Euphoria Pride at the Plaza. The duo will also make stops throughout the continent on The Bread Tour this fall after jetting over to Australia and New Zealand to tour with J Balvin. In November, SOFI TUKKER will head back to Europe to join Kygo on his world tour for a run of shows until December.
