Vintage Culture Unveils Long-Awaited Debut Album 'Promised Land'

Beloved Brazilian house music DJ and producer Vintage Culture has finally released his debut album. With many other big releases and remixes over the years, this is his largest release to date. The 16-track album titled Promised Land, is the culmination of his over ten years making music.

The album kicks off with the title track, which features Paige Cavell and sets the tone with its strong start. It is followed by “Nothing Ever Changes,” a track with a driving melody and melancholy vocals that features Magnus. “Hero,” with Emery Taylor, and “Chemicals,” with GOODBOYS, stand out with their catchy and prominent vocals.

Tracks like “Pleasure Chasers” and “Weak” feel influenced by alternative rock, bringing a uniqueness to the rest of the album. “Come Come” and “Love or Hate” deliver big synths and climatic buildups, with the latter of the two seeing Vintage Culture team up with Liu Bei.

As the album progresses, “Still Don’t Know What I Want” with Armonica offers a groovy bassline and unique sound effects. While “Time” with Braev delves into slightly new territory with intriguing soundscapes. “Just Like Home” brings a driving bassline, while “Too Far Down The Trap” introduces a breakbeat-like start that evolves into more familiar sounds of the rest of the album as The Temper Trap is added into the mix of collaborators.

The album concludes with “Find a Way” and “New Seasons.” While “Find a Way” features powerful female vocals, “New Seasons” delivers the perfect finale with its natural percussion and larger-than-life nature as Braev returns to help carry you home.
