Last weekend, headliners soaked up the sun with Deorro and Audien at Marquee Dayclub during Road to EDC — check out what went down!
EDC Las Vegas is still three months away but Insomniac wasted no time getting the party started on the Road To EDC! This was a two-day party held over President’s Day weekend that transformed the Marquee Dayclub dome into a raver’s playground. Deorro and Audien brought the beats and a colorful cast of festival performers stole the show.
I jumped at the chance to check out the event because who wouldn’t want to enjoy a little bit of heat smackdab in the middle of winter? But, above all else, it was the music that inspired me to come out and play, and it was the feeling of home that got me to stay.
After you’re done exploring what made the Road To EDC a massive success, make sure to check out the latest EDC news to arrive! These include the lineup for Hotel EDC as well as phase one for EDC Week! Get ready, because the EDC Las Vegas lineup comes to fruition on February 29 in a rapid megamix!

Five Reasons You Should’ve Been at Road To EDC at Marquee Dayclub
A chance to shed the winter clothes and kick back poolside in a climate-controlled dome.
It’s the middle of February and while much of the country is shoveling snow and hibernating, the lucky ones are chillin’ in the oasis that is Marquee Dayclub. The dome offers a one-of-a-kind Vegas experience, running year-round even though pool party season closes around October and doesn’t reopen until March.
Being able to throw on my bathing suit and head poolside was a boost to the system. The temps are kept around 85 degrees and while there are definite pockets of heat, there are areas of respite to cool off after all the dancing. The transparent dome allowed natural light to beam down, adding to the steamy summer ambiance.
For those who wanted to take a dip, the massive pool was visually clean and not overpacked at all. But, the best part? Free drinking water at every bar.
Eye candy served up by the Insomniac performers.
One of my favorite things about Electric Daisy Carnival is the talented performers who work in tandem with the music. They bring the fantasy to life with quirky costumes, playful attitudes, and gorgeous body movements that I can only dream of replicating.
It was a pleasant surprise to see so many performers at Road To EDC — dancing on raised platforms, balancing on stilts, and cruising through the crowd. Watching and exchanging candid moments with them made me yearn to be under The Electric Sky more than ever.
The perfect amount of production.
You can’t have a proper party without the production and Road To EDC impressed with a modest array of lighting and fog. When it comes to the lighting, I was surprised to see lasers in the fray but somehow they made them work in the dayclub setting. Sure, they weren’t pronounced but if you were standing in the right spot they added the perfect visual pop.
The foggers were my favorite — spilling over the crowd and bringing visibility down to zero for a few fleeting seconds. I appreciated that they didn’t omit much of a noise, compared to their CO2 counterparts, which yes, they used those as well. If I could offer any advice it would be to stop blasting those off at the drop. It takes away from arguably the most important part of the track.
Comfortable crowd vibes.
One thing that can make or break the experience is crowd vibes. While the community is built on PLUR, you pack hundreds of people in a room together and sometimes it’s not all rainbows and butterflies. It’s important to note that Vegas clubs are not reserved for ravers only. All types of people are thrown into the mix, some of whom may not be familiar with our ethos.
I’m happy to report that the Road To EDC crowd was incredibly friendly and generally respectful of personal space. This played out the most on day two when my colleague wasn’t able to attend. I was adopted by the sweetest group who made sure I stayed hydrated while busting out some silly dance moves with me.
I even lost my fan at one point and the beautiful soul who found it ran around the venue until she found me. Yet another testament to the loving hearts of the EDC fam.
Deorro, Audien, and their supporting acts understood the assignment.
Last but not least, Deorro and Audien brought the house down! But they didn’t do it alone. Dem 2, Black V Neck, Syence, and Codeko got the festivities going and kept the party from waning.
The thing I loved most about Deorro was that he brought me back to the golden era of EDC. The time between 2012 and 2016 when big room, progressive, and electro dominated the mainstage. He was flinging out beats like “Flashlight” with R3HAB and “Tornado” by Firebeatz, but, he also made sure to inject his beloved Latin flavors at every twist and turn.
Audien had the crowd in the palm of his hand the moment he stepped on stage. He captured the edgy essence of EDC, serving up sexy Saltburn selections and energy spikers like “PSA” by MAKJ and Luis Torres. He balanced it out with tracks that resonate with the industry diehards, like his own “Superhero” and “Million Voices” by Otto Knows.
The final score for Road To EDC at Marquee Dayclub.
All things considered, Insomniac knocked it out of the park with this party. When I chatted with people poolside about their EDC Las Vegas attendance, I was met with resounding positivity. A few had never been and this party inspired them to commit, while others reported that they go every year and attending this party was an expression of their devotion.
Feeling the excitement for EDC under the dome combined with great entertainment earned Road To EDC a ten out of ten!
