Two months after Three comes out on Text Records, Four Tet will share the stage with Ben UFO, Sammy Virji, Floating Points, and others.
Four Tet fans have ample cause for excitement lately. On Tuesday, the UK DJ and producer announced a double-header event called Four Tet & Friends slated to take place at Under the K Bridge Park in Brooklyn, New York City on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5. He followed it up by sharing that his upcoming album, Three, is due out March 15 on his own Text Records imprint.
The first entry of the record’s tracklist is “Loved,” which Four Tet (real name Kieran Hebden) shared last month ahead of the full release. It also includes “Three Drums,” a track he let trickle out last spring. Coinciding with the announcement is the release of a third single, “Daydream Repeat,” whose glittering harp plucks and upbeat rhythm foretell of what’s to come when Three arrives in full.
Then, two months after the effort drops, Hebden will bring a formidable list of fellow talent along for his two-day event in Brooklyn.
On the first day, he will be joined onstage by Ben UFO, Chloé Robinson, and Sammy Virji, in addition to playing two sets of his own. Acts like Incienso (Anthony Naples and DJ’J), Laurel Halo, and Beta Librae will play creekside well into the night.
That Sunday will see Hebden return to play an extended set, along with mainstage performances by Daphni b2b Floating Points and Salute. The creekside stage will play host to Avalon Emerson‘s 9000 Dreams project, Elissa Suckdog, and Kim Ann Foxman, among others.
Hebden first made a name for himself as one of the founding members of English post-rock band Fridge before embarking on a foray into electronic music starting in 1997. Albums like 2005’s Everything Ecstatic and 2010’s There Is Love in You garnered his Four Tet project critical acclaim. Recently, he nabbed a Grammy Awards win alongside Skrillex, Fred Again.., and Flowdan in the category of Best Dance/Electronic Recording for their collaboration, “Rumble.”
