Los Angeles-based duo No Relation is warming everyone up during the winter months with a house-fueled mix that’s filled with heaters.
Southern California is a hotbed of talent in the dance music scene. Not only is it home to some of the biggest artists globally, but there are plenty more who are steadily making their rise through its ranks with each passing year. One of the freshest house duos to surface from the region is No Relation, a project that marries the minds of Kyle Yorn and Chase Brown.
Based out of Los Angeles, this duo previously performed under the Kashed moniker and took the stage at venues like NOVA SD, Marquee Las Vegas, and Time OC. Last year, Yorn and Brown took a few months off of shows to refocus their sound and project, leading to No Relation’s formation in late August. Since then, they’ve set off on a mission to bring their unique take on dance music that’s influenced by Latin house, afro house, and more to the forefront.
The first release to arrive from No Relation was a groovy house gem called “Tell Me,” which featured sultry vocals, organic drums, and a touch of Latin flair for added measure. More recently, the duo flexed their remixing abilities by taking Angus and Julia Stone’s “Big Jet Plane” and twisting it into a new soundscape that will whisk you away to a sand-laden dancefloor during a summer party. With those feelings in mind, they spun up a mix for our Winter Waveforms series is sure to warm your soul as the cold weather continues to persist.
