Starting 2024 with a bang, Volaris announces his HORIZN imprint and its first release: his single, “Close To You.”
Nathan Cozzetto, the brainchild of Volaris, had quite the year in 2023 after abandoning his software engineering job to pursue music full-time. Only in the second year of his project, Volaris was on tour, performing in hallowed halls such as Printworks and Brooklyn Mirage as well as festivals like Movement and Electric Zoo. When we spoke with him last April, the sky was the limit for this budding artist in the scene who had previously battled cancer.
Volaris was not going to let the darkness of cancer overshadow the joy of new life, however. He overcame his ailment, and “Close To You,” the debut release on his newly minted HORIZN imprint, stands as a testament that he’s not taking his new lease on life for granted.
Along with the release of this new single, Volaris has announced a livestream event as a fundraiser for Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where he was treated for cancer. “It was really important for me to use this label as a vehicle to give back to those that have helped me and many others through the darkest times,” he said.
The launch of HORIZN is yet another example of the support he’s received. The label is a partnership with The Circuit Group, which includes such celebrated names as Chris Lake, deadmau5, FISHER, HoneyLuv, and NERO. Volaris is in good company as he embarks on his sonic mission, “where boundaries are shattered, and artistic freedom reigns supreme.”
