'Hardwell On Air' to Resume Broadcasting After Almost Three Years

After running for a decade, Hardwell On Air had discontinued in 2021 with the release of its 500th episode.

Hardwell is among the most influential EDM artists of the 2010s. As his career soared to unimaginable heights, Hardwell On Air played in the background. Now, after a nearly three-year hiatus, the radio show is gearing up for a triumphant return. Friday, November 3 marks the long-awaited air date of “HOA#501.”

To what do Hardwell (real name Robbert van de Corput) fans owe the good news? It’s hard to say. He discontinued it in January 2021, around the same time his Revealed Recordings label introduced a 24/7 YouTube and Twitch channel. Now that the live channel has been retired as well, perhaps van de Corput simply got the broadcasting itch once again.

“I’m super excited to bring Hardwell On Air back to the airwaves,” said van de Corput, according to a press release. “The show was always a great way to connect with the fans and share the music I’m passionate about. It’s taken a while to get this relaunch of the show in place, but I’m looking forward to kicking off this new HOA era.“

Having landed his first record deal at only 14 in 2002, Hardwell’s first taste of commercial success came courtesy of his 2007 Greatski collaboration “Never Knew Love.” He launched Revealed Recordings in 2010, and the years that followed saw him release such iconic big room and electro house singles as “Spaceman,” “Apollo,” and “Encoded” while performing on the main stages of massive festivals like EDC Las Vegas and Tomorrowland.

In 2018, van de Corput announced that he would take an indefinite hiatus from DJing. He returned to the stage with a 2022 performance at Ultra Music Festival and a new “big room techno” sound. It remains to be seen whether Hardwell On Air will offer more of the same.

Hardwell will formally announce the return of Hardwell On Air during an Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) gathering called 538 Hotel hosted by Radio 538. “HOA#501” and all future episodes will be available on his YouTube channel.
