Legendary New Year’s Eve festival Together As One is set to make its return to the scene after a decade of absence with Insomniac Events at the helm.
Turn back the clock to the turn of the century, and you’ll find two Los Angeles promoters vying for attention from ravers, Insomniac Events and Go Ventures. Each had their own New Year’s Eve festivals, with Go Ventures hosting Encore while Insomniac brought the heat with Countdown (in its original form). Looking to promote unity on the dancefloor, the two joined forces to create Together As One (TAO) in 1998 to give ravers in Southern California a place to ring in 1999 in style.
The following decade saw Together As One flourish with editions in Downtown Los Angeles at the LA Sports Arena that brought iconic artists like Paul Van Dyk, David Guetta, Sasha & John Digweed, Frankie Bones, Armin van Buuren, and Steve Angello to the stage. In 2011, Insomniac parted ways with the festival to launch White Wonderland, and while Go Ventures kept TAO alive that year, but the festival was unexpectedly canceled in 2012 and only received a brief attempt to revive it in 2015.
Today, Insomniac announced the return of Together As One, but the city that the festival once called home isn’t where it will be held. Instead, they will head up Interstate 5 and relaunch the festival in a new city, Tacoma. On December 30-31, the Tacoma Dome will be dressed to the nines with high-quality production elements and sound to help ravers in the Pacific Northwest dance away the final hours of 2023 and welcome in 2024.
The lineup, ticket sale dates, and other details about the return of Together As One remain a mystery as of publishing, but more information should be arriving soon. Make sure to follow TAO on their newly minted social media channels and sign up for their text line to stay in the know on exclusive updates.
