“BOND” is the second single from Pan-Pot’s upcoming album, FORTE.
German techno duo Pan-Pot have been active for 20 years. This is no small feat in the rapidly shifting world of dance music — and to celebrate, they’re releasing a ten-track album titled FORTE via their Second State imprint on November 17.
Pan-Pot (whose real names are Tassilo Ippenberger and Thomas Benedix) released the lead single from the album, “PROTO,” earlier in July. Accompanying the announcement of the longform work is the second single, “FORM.” Whereas the former offers a taste of high-octane peak hour techno, the latter builds slowly with infectious groove at its core.
Every two weeks, Ippenberger and Benedix will share another entry from FORTE‘s tracklist leading up to the full release.
FORTE — meaning strong — translates all the good and bad times we have had in a way that reflects on our sound. It’s a journey of reflection, reinvention and inspiration from our travels around the world and the people we have met along the way. The tracks emulate the past, present, and future, in a range of styles, but most importantly they are all tracks which we love and enjoy playing. We wanted to create our own original music again, and this project has been long in the making to celebrate 20 years of Pan-Pot.

Ippenberger and Benedix met in 2003 at Berlin’s SAE Institute, where they both studied audio engineering. They made fast friends as nobody else in their classes was interested in pursuing techno.
Early Pan-Pot records found homes on Anja Schneider and Ralf Kollmann‘s imprint Mobilee, and on Britta von Mansbach and Eik Neumeyer’s Einmaleins Musik Label. Their big break arguably came in 2007 with the release of their debut album, Pan-O-Rama.
