GRiZ Announces He’s Taking an Indefinite Hiatus

Multi-talented artist GRiZ announced that he is taking an indefinite hiatus from the scene after concluding his run of shows this year in October.

Few artists in the scene have grown to the immense size that GRiZ has over the past few years. Carried forward by his consistent releases in the bass realm, including a recently released remix of John Summit’s smash hit with Hayla, “Where You Are,” as well as the sheer volume of festival appearances and headlining shows around the US, he’s become a force to be reckoned with. Additionally, GRiZ launched standalone experiences like Space Camp and Triple Rainbow while continuing to give back with his annual GRiZMAS event series in Detroit.

Today, in the midst of yet another massive run of shows that recently included a set at EDC Las Vegas, GRiZ dropped some important news for his faithful fanbase – he’s going on an indefinite hiatus after his last show in October. “Life is really good, and often I make myself too busy to see just where I am and how far this project has come,” he said in the message posted to social media. “I’m following my gut instincts so for now, I’m not going to put a hard time limit length on the break.”

The post from GRiZ goes on to state that he considered pulling a “grand vanishing trick” but was advised to do otherwise, and he also made it clear that GRiZMAS, Space Camp, and NYE shows wouldn’t be happening this year or next year. That being said, he did also tease his last headline/curated show, still to be announced, which will take place at “an intimate venue in a beautiful location,” before signing off with a giant thank you to the fans who have supported him over the years.
