Spring Awakening Music Festival is not moving forward this year after an email from SeeTickets surfaced regarding its cancelation.
Last year, thousands of dance music lovers descended upon Chicago to attend Spring Awakening Autumn Equinox as the festival found its footing after the swings of the pandemic. This year, though, it seems as if the festival will not be returning on its anticipated dates of July 8-10 to celebrate its 10th anniversary after an email surfaced from SeeTickets that indicates that Spring Awakening Music Festival has been canceled.
While the festival organizers have not yet officially announced the cancelation of Spring Awakening and tickets are still available via their website, a Redditor who was set to attend, u/Floseiden, reached out to SeeTickets earlier today. They posted the response they received to r/SpringAwakening that contained the email reportedly sent out to patrons who were attending this year’s edition. “We are sad to announce that we will be postponing Spring Awakening Music Festival’s 10th Anniversary until 2023,” said the statement from Spring Awakening in the email sent to them by SeeTickets.
According to the email, tickets for the 2022 edition of Spring Awakening Music Festival will be honored in 2023. Those who retain their three-day GA tickets will be bumped up to VIP, those with VIP tickets will receive exclusive side-stage access sets, and those with Ultimate VIP will receive backstage access and 50% off merch at next year’s edition.
Ticket holders who want to request a refund instead of retaining their tickets need to do so by May 30, 2022 at 11:59pm CST, with refunds being processed within 14 business days. Unfortunately, there is also currently no direct link for the refund request form that has been made public, so please reach out to SeeTickets directly if you did not receive the cancelation notice.
