AMÉMÉ, 8KAYS, Emily Nash, Jaden Thompson, Nikki Nair, Nia Archives, Mariana Trench, and Risa Taniguchi are the latest artists to join Beatport Next.
From launching new tools and fostering partnerships with tech giants to hosting live stream series and supporting budding genres, Beatport has been on a roll over the past few years. In 2021, they built on the support they provide to rising DJs in the scene with the launch of Beatport Next. This program shines a light on a handful of curated artists by giving them custom promotions, livestreams, editorial features, and other benefits such as LINK playlisting.
The first year of Beatport Next included six artists (Alignment, TSHA, IMANU, Logic1000, Kevin de Vries, and VNSSA) who not only saw a 70% boost in revenue from the Beatport store, but also a massive 101% increase in followers on the platform. Now, after an open call for DJs to submit and a new year in full swing, Beatport unveiled the official 2022 class.
Joining Beatport Next in 2022 are a total of eight talented DJs and producers who champion the program’s mission of showcasing a diverse range of genres and styles. This includes 8KAYS (Melodic House & Techno), AMÉMÉ (Afro House), Emily Nash (Dance/Electro Pop), Jaden Thompson (House), Mariana Trench (Deep House), Nia Archives (Drum & Bass), Nikki Nair (Breaks), and Risa Taniguchi (Techno).
Each one of these artists is bringing something new and exciting to speakers around the globe. For instance, Tokyo-based DJ and producer Risa Taniguchi draws upon the influence from the city’s atmosphere to create her immersive techno soundscapes while AMÉMÉ channels his cultural roots from West Africa to produce dancefloor-ready tunes.
