House Of Cheetah might be chilling on the island of Maui, but are crafting up some tech house heaters that set a proper groove.
When you think about the sound of tech house, cities like London, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, and the island of Ibiza immediately come to mind. But in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, miles away from the mainland of the United States, a vibrant scene has graced the islands of Hawaii. While the dance music community might be smaller and more isolated than others, they’ve brought their own flair along with them over the years and fresh duo House Of Cheetah is looking to expand on that.
Formed in 2021, House Of Cheetah sees the minds of Andy Sharpe and Paul Gillard come together in the studio to bring forth tasty tech house tunes for the masses to consume. They dropped their debut single, “Flex,” back in June that delivered a pumping bassline, and followed it up in September with “Mick & Keith.” A clear reference to the iconic members of the Rolling Stones, this one is an absolute heater of a track with its stunning synths, perfectly placed vocals, and a groove that you can’t help but move your body to.
While shows have yet to return to Hawaii, House Of Cheetah swung by to showcase their unique take on tech house by spinning up a mix for the This Is Home series featuring selections from artists like Funk Cartel, The Sponges, and more. So tune in to the mix below, download “Mick & Keith” on Beatport or stream it on Spotify, and stay tuned for more from this fresh duo.
