El Paso’s health authorities and the County Commissioner’s Court have determined that it would be unfeasible to produce Freakazoid Robots safely.
Earlier this year, Disco Donnie Presents brightened up the lives of dance music lovers in the state of Texas after announcing that they would be returning to El Paso with a newly minted festival, Freakazoid Robots. The debut edition of the festival was set to take place at Ascarate Park over Labor Day Weekend – but now that will not be the case. Today, El Paso health authorities and the El Paso County Commissioner’s Court determined that it would be “unfeasible” for the festival to be produced safely during the first weekend of September.
Just hours ago, Disco Donnie Presents announced the official cancellation of the festival. “Please know that the well-being of everyone is our primary concern,” they said in the statement posted to the Freakazoid Robots’ website. “We look forward to seeing you again soon, along with the quality of operations and production that you have come to expect from us.”
Those who purchased tickets for Freakazoid Robots 2021 will have the option for their purchase to be automatically refunded or transferred to Freaky Deaky 2021 this coming October. The deadline to submit a request for transfers is Sunday, August 22 at 11:59pm MST, with the automatic refunds taking place after that date. Other questions in regards to transfers and more can be found in their FAQ.
The debut edition of Freakazoid Robots was set to feature Adventure Club, Alesso, Lane 8, ZHU, Subtronics, Rusko, and more. No details have surfaced as of publishing in regards to new potential dates for the festival in the future.
Stay tuned for further details on festival postponements and cancelations this year as concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic continue.
