Dutch DJ and producer Wantigga curates a splendid house mix full of hand-picked favorites and tracks from his debut album Andreas.
Over the years no genre has gone untested for Dutch artist Wantigga. From his earliest releases in 2010 to today, the multi-talented producer has cultivated a sound that blends his roots of jazz, soul, and gospel with the punchy groovy elements of electronic music. Every release continues to gain him a larger fan base and rightfully so as the sky is seemingly the limit for this brilliant artist.
In March, Wantigga released his most ambitious project to date in the form of his debut album, Andreas, which saw him team up with artists like GANZ, Maydien, On The Fence, and PRVTE to bring it to completion. The album is an intricate body of work that combines his early influences of hip-hop and R&B with flares of electronica, house, and other experimental sounds.
In a display of versatility behind the decks, Wantigga put together a disco-fueled house mix for the latest edition of This Is Home. He wastes no time setting the vibe with a collection of his favorite tunes he has been listening to lately – and songs like “okaywegetit” by HXNS, “This Is Message To You” by Dego, and “Common Ground” by Duke Hugh show the depth and variety of music the Dutch artist likes to explore.
As the mix progresses, hand-picked tunes like the funky “Waiting” by Jengi are masterfully mixed in and out of those from his debut album. Then, it winds down in style with “Love Yourself,” “Feels,” and “DD62 Waves,” before coming to a close with DJ Spoony‘s “Gabriel.”
This treat from an incredibly talented producer will surely make you a new fan after listening. Listen to the mix below, download or stream Andreas on your favorite platform, and let us know what you think in the comments!
