Felix Cartal just announced the Chopped Up Challenge to give aspiring producers the chance to win software, cash, and more.

Since first breaking onto the scene, Vancouver-based artist Felix Cartal has become renowned for delivering some of the finest beats in the dance music scene. Singles like “Get What You Give,” “Love Me,” and “Mine” have all gone platinum while his other originals and collaborations, including his latest track “Happy Hour” with Kiiara, further prove he’s an artist everyone should be paying attention to.

Now, after the release of that fantastic collaboration with Kiiara, Felix Cartal is looking to give back to other producers in the dance music scene with the announcement of a four-week, musical battle. Dubbed the Chopped Up Challenge, each week will feature a fresh vocal acapella sample for producers to use to create a one-minute long track. Once submitted, Felix will be joined by his weekly guest judge on Twitch to listen to the submissions and pick a winner.

Sponsored by Native Instruments, Pioneer, and SKIO Music, the competition begins on February 11 with the first acapella available by heading over to Felix Cartal’s website. From there, the first judging session taking place on February 18 at 7PM PT with Kaskade as the guest judge. The other three judging dates will be on February 25 with Zedd, March 4 with Dr Fresch, and March 11 with TOKiMONSTA.

Each weekly winner will receive a Native Instruments Komplete 13 Ultimate bundle, Pioneer DDJ-SB3 Controller, $250 cash, and 3 months of SKIO+, 24hr Song Feedback report, and 30 minutes of Marketing Strategy & A&R calls. The runner up will also get $100 cash along with 1 month of SKIO+, 24hr Song Feedback report, and 15 minutes of Marketing Strategy & A&R calls

Head over to Felix Cartal’s website for more details on the Chopped Up Challenge and to download the acapella if you plan on entering the competition. And don’t forget to follow Felix Cartal on Twitch so you can catch the judging process live each week!
