Carl Cox and other artists offer a helping hand during Ibiza’s urgent food crisis with an online charity event series, Ibiza Soul Food.
From endless nights dancing until sunrise to waking up to the most surreal beaches across the globe, Ibiza is a true destination for those looking to get their fix of electronic music. The beautiful island off the southern coast of Spain has served as a home to some of the electronic scene’s most renowned artists at its renowned nightclubs and intimate venues. But due to the pandemic, the White Isle is facing some serious hardships with the lack of shows and loss of revenue from visitors. Many people who have called it home over the years are looking to help, and Universe is the latest to announce their efforts with Ibiza Soul Food.
Set to kick off on Saturday, December 12, the Ibiza Soul Food event series carries on the support for Ibiza Food Bank that began back in the summer when Non Profit Label dropped Giving: Food For Ibiza. Its intent is to raise funds to donate to the food bank so that the 5-6,000 residents on the island so can purchase fresh food and receive weekly delivered parcels during the winter months. Artists who are set to play the debut show include Ibiza-legend Carl Cox, along with Bushwhacka, Syreeta, and Mark Greene (Secret Society).
Hosted on Woov, a virtual venue that is looking to redefine live performances, the four-hour show will be open to those in the UK and EU with tickets costing £2.00. Tickets can be purchased on their website and 100% of proceeds will be directly donated.
