Room Service Music Festival captivated audiences across the globe with diverse music sets and raised over $135,000 for charity.
Last weekend, Room Service Music Festival, produced by Trap Nation and Chill Nation, delivered a 3-day musical feast to over 2.5 million viewers exclusively on YouTube. With an absolutely stacked lineup featuring a wide range of acts, Room Service delivered on its promise to bring the festival experience home. It also delivered on its philanthropic mission to raise money for charities benefiting those affected by COVID-19 – raising over $135,000 for Feeding America and Sweet Relief.
The artists that participated in Room Service blew it out of the water with their passion for the event and their fans, delivering unique sets complete with custom visual experiences.
Each set communicated a different artistic brand and vision. For example, Vintage Culture‘s set played from a ’70s style wood-paneled basement felt perfect for him. Meanwhile, Tisoki transported us to a bangers-laden set from the back of his Tesla, and Clozee‘s set up was full of vibey black-lit decor. Other honorable mentions include Chromeo‘s ode to Room Service written just for that performance, JOYRYDE‘s set played entirely from a jeep straight out of GTA, and Clean Bandit‘s b2b with 220 Kid which used a drone to fly between their decks.
The concurrently running Trap and Chill Nation stages was also a stand-out, easily navigable feature.
Whenever the music on Trap Nation was too heavy for my mood, with a couple of clicks I plunged myself into a completely different audiovisual environment. Trap Nation sets tended to be higher production, giving festival main stage vibes. By contrast, most of the Chill Nation sets felt like intimate living room sessions. These two tracks of programming were the perfect blend to keep me engaged throughout the event.
None of this could have been executed to Room Service’s level of success without its seamless and innovative back end production.
Most importantly, the stream quality always came through clear and set times were continuously updated, allowing fans to immerse themselves in the experience. In between each set, a cart with a silver serving tray on it traveled through dense jungle before entering a doorway of a canopied room to deliver you the next helping of beats. Not only was this a visual delight, I actually felt like I was moving around a festival and now I can’t wait for the next edition!
Missed out on the festivities? Have no fear! Many sets from the weekend have already found their way to a variety of platforms. Let us know who your favorite was in the comments and feel free to join in on the conversation on Facebook!
