Firefly Music Festival organizers have announced that the 2020 edition has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Over the past two weeks, events and festivals that were set to take place during the spring and early summer have announced their postponement or outright cancellation as the coronavirus pandemic continues to grow. Now, after festivals in May like Lightning in a Bottle and Movement Detroit have been added to that mix, Firefly Music Festival has also joined the list.
In their statement that was released on just moments ago, the organizers of Firefly Music Festival said: “At the direction of state and local authorities and federal guidelines amid the COVID-19 pandemic, we are saddened to confirm the cancellation of Firefly Music Festival 2020. We take the safety and health of our fans, staff and community seriously and we urge everyone to follow the guidelines and protocols put for by public health officials.”

They go on to state how disappointed they are about the decision due to the impact on their team and welcome those who plan to attend in 2021. Tickets for this year’s edition will be honored in 2021, but if you cannot attend the festival a refund option is also available.
This year’s edition of Firefly Music Festival was set to feature artists like Blink 182, Rage Against The Machine, Illenium, Diplo, Billie Eilish, and plenty more. No details have been announced in regard to artist retention for next year’s edition so make sure to keep your notifications enabled on their socials for the latest updates.
Stay tuned for more information about other cancellations and postponements from around the world as we continue to follow the impact coronavirus has on the festival season this year.
