The recent wildfires in Australia have devastated the flora and fauna and artists in Los Angeles are looking to give to relief efforts with an event called Make It Rain.
While some recent victories have come in the fight against the bushfires that have raged on in Australia the devastation that they brought will be felt for decades to come. Support for the fires has come in from many around the world and now the Aussie artists in LA are looking to help further and raise funds with Make It Rain.
Hosted at Academy LA on January 29, Make It Rain is set to feature a lineup filled with some of Australia’s best and brightest artists in the scene. Some of the artists who stand out immediately are tyDi, What So Not, Nina Las Vegas, and Yolanda Be Cool. They’ll be joined by others like Vassy, PNAU, and Hook N Sling along with a bevy of special guests who will be joining in on the fun as well.
“The feeling of complete helplessness got too much for us here in LA, and we knew we needed to channel our energy into something bigger than ourselves. We’re stoked to see how the dance music community has been so supportive of this cause and we look forward to seeing our friends and family at Academy on January 29th,” said Aussie “Make It Rain” organizers Andie Leon (Academy LA), Lorne Padman (Dim Mak) and Tyson Illingworth (tyDi).
Tickets for Make It Rain are available now and can be purchased via Eventbrite with all profits being donated to three charities focused on the Australian Bushfire Relief efforts: Red Cross Australia, GivIt, and NSW Wildlife Council (NWC).
