Zeds Dead Brought A Night Of Bass To The Music City

Zeds Dead stopped in Nashville on their Journey of a Lifetime tour, taking the stage at Ascend Amphitheater and Category 10 for two incredible performances.

As Canadian bass music pioneers Zeds Dead prepare to embark on their first-ever indefinite hiatus from touring in 2027, fans have been soaking in every last minute with them in 2026. Their current tour, Journey of a Lifetime, is based on one of the first tracks the pair ever created and released as Zeds Dead. It represents their journey thus far as they’ve toured around the world for the last decade and a half, playing some of the most iconic venues and festivals while becoming one of the most respected names in dance music.

The Journey of a Lifetime tour made its rounds to Nashville last month at the beautiful Ascend Amphitheater. Tucked in the middle of the downtown area’s Riverfront Park, the venue holds just over 7,000 fans and boasts a stunning cityscape backdrop. It was the perfect spot for a Zeds Dead party, and the morning’s rainy weather held off just in time for the show.

Following support duties from longtime friend and Deadbeats collaborator Moody Good, Zeds Dead took the stage in their suits and ties just after 9pm. It wouldn’t be the “Journey of a Lifetime” tour without the track that bears its name opening the event. They’ve taken a newer spin on the tune for this tour, but it would have been extra special to hear the original.

The crowd went wild for Zeds Dead classics like “Rude Boy,” “Lost You,” and “Eyes on Fire,” while newer favorites like “Sweet Memories” and “One of These Mornings” were simply stunning alongside the nostalgic, old-school television-style visuals.

“In Your Head” with Cut_ from their latest album had the crowd in a complete trance. They even played plenty of unreleased music, including their “rainbow/ROYGBV” ID, which they debuted earlier this month at Deadrocks, and their flip of Manu Chao’s “Bongo Bong.”

No one would’ve guessed that Nashville’s biggest line-dancing bar owned by country singer Luke Combs would be the perfect spot for a late-night Zeds Dead after-party.

Following the main show at Ascend Amphitheater, a mob of Zeds Dead fans made their way even farther into downtown Nashville. Luke Combs’ Category 10 was just a short seven-minute walk from the amphitheater, making it a breeze to get there. Nashville tourists seemed rightfully confused when the excited, fishnet-clad mob appeared out of nowhere in the midst of honky-tonk bars with live country coming from everywhere you turned.

It was like we slipped into our own secret dubstep universe, right on one of the busiest strips in Nashville. If it weren’t for Luke Combs’ signage all around (and a massive wall of trucker hats), you barely would have guessed the dark, edgy bar belonged to a country artist. With 3 stories and a rooftop, it even had massive comfy chairs at its third-level bar that were perfect for a recharge in between sets.

The star of the show, besides Zeds Dead, of course, was an incredible LED chandelier that glittered and swirled up and down all night above the dance floor. It was paired in sync with the colors of the visual board and difficult not to be mesmerized by. Zeds Dead after-parties are known to vary, and this night we got treated to a full set of dubstep and drum and bass. They didn’t spin many of their own tunes at this one, but they did play “Where Are You Now” as a treat for their OG fans.

The nostalgia alongside anticipatory grief towards the duo’s impending hiatus was heavy this weekend, but didn’t stop everyone from feeling gratitude for yet another unforgettable Zeds Dead experience. They carry a special connection with their fans everywhere they go, and it’s even cooler to see it come together in an unsuspecting city like Nashville.
