Rampage And Monstercat Join Forces To Relaunch Rampage Recordings

The newly relaunched Rampage Recordings will serve as a year-round home for dubstep and drum and bass artists pushing their genres forward.

Globally renowned drum and bass brand Rampage is breathing new life into its label division by announcing a partnership with Canadian imprint Monstercat. This long-term joint venture will relaunch Rampage Recordings, providing space for artists in the dubstep and drum and bass scenes to experiment and flourish.

The news of Rampage Recordings’ rebirth arrives on the heels of another solid edition of Rampage Open Air, which took place earlier this month in Belgium, as well as its stage takeover during the first weekend of Tomorrowland. “This partnership gives us the opportunity to think much bigger,” said Rampage founder Murdock about the newly formed partnership.

Rampage itself has become a behemoth in the bass music scene. Since its launch in 2009, the Belgian brand has evolved to host multiple festivals and events in Europe that have featured legendary acts and forward-thinking future stars in the drum and bass and dubstep community. Last year saw the brand expand further, touching down in cities like Tokyo, Montreal, Denver, and Vancouver, enhancing its global presence along the way.

This new partnership adds another arm to Monstercat, which has grown exponentially over the past decade. The Canadian electronic music imprint already featured a flurry of bass music artists through its Monstercat Instinct and Monstercat Uncaged imprints, while the trance- and progressive house-centered Monstercat Silk debuted in 2021 following the acquisition of Silk Music.

Previously, Rampage Recordings released a flurry of compilations centered on the brand’s event series and samplers showcasing the hottest sounds in drum and bass. Artists such as Dirtyphonics, Cyantific, Basstripper, AC13, Subsonic, and the brand’s founder, Murdock, also released solo material on the imprint, ranging from singles and EPs to albums.

The first new release to land on Rampage Recordings will arrive from Macky Gee. The two-tracker, Onslaught / Shufflin’, is slated for release on July 24, and those who caught the DJ at the most recent iteration of Rampage Open Air will find the tunes familiar, as he played both tunes during his headline set.
