Sara Landry welcomes hard techno artist Ali James to HEKATE Records with Down In It, a two-track EP that doubles as a full circle moment for him.
When Sara Landry dropped Ali James‘ track “Down In It” during her Tomorrowland 2025 set, the producer was caught completely off guard. He grabbed his phone, filmed his real-time reaction in selfie mode over a clip of the moment, and shared it on Instagram. There was nothing but pure shock and excitement written all over his face.
Now, months later, that moment has come full circle as Ali James landed his first official release on HEKATE, Sara Landry’s imprint. The EP, titled Down In It, features the very track that first sparked the viral moment.
Clearly on the rise in the hard dance circuit, Ali James continues to prove why he belongs in the space with Down In It. Both the title track and “Do It Right” pair melodic vocal elements with driving, hard techno foundations, while psytrance influences layered throughout lend each song intensity and momentum.
This isn’t the first time the Australian artist has received support from a hard techno heavy hitter either. Nico Moreno played his track “Distortion” at Rotterdam Rave in 2024, and I Hate Models got the crowd pumped with an unreleased Ali James collaboration featuring Lex Ledu at FUCKNYE Festival in Brussels.
With backing from some of the genre’s most commanding names and a breakout moment that’s now come full circle, Down In It marks more than just a release; it also signals a turning point. For Ali James, what started as a surreal festival surprise has turned into a defining step forward, positioning him as an artist to watch as the next wave of hard dance talent takes shape.
