Rising house sensation Tommy Phillips swung by to discuss his artist journey, breakout moment, and exciting plans for the year ahead.
Glasgow-based Tommy Phillips is rising as a standout voice in UK house music. Fusing Chicago-inspired warmth with breakbeat energy and inventive melodic touches, his distinctive sound stands apart. His breakout releases like the Smokin’ EP on Hector Couto’s Roush label and the Foolish Stuff EP on Ben Rau’s META have earned support from tastemakers like Jamie Jones, Max Dean, and Sidney Charles.
But Tommy’s biggest moment to date has been his beloved remix of deadmau5 and Kaskade‘s “I Remember.” The song became a fan favorite long before its official release in March last year. And after lighting up dancefloors and clubs, it surged even further to cross one million streams within a short time.
Following that success, Tommy dropped his Fixation EP last summer. The three-track package of punchy minimal house and deep tech grooves hit #1 on Beatport across multiple genres, proving both his versatility and relentless drive to push boundaries.
On the live performance side, Tommy has played at iconic venues like Pacha Ibiza and fabric. As his catalog grows and his global presence expands, he is clearly stepping into his moment.
As he has new shows, music, and major plans lined up for the year ahead, we spoke with Tommy about his roots, breakthrough, and where he’s headed next. Listen to the Fixation EP on Spotify and keep reading for our interview, as this emerging artist is poised to be part of the next wave shaping the future of house music.

What originally drew you into producing house music, and when did you realize this could become a full-time career?
I have been making music for as long as I can remember, but I really found my direction after going to Forbidden Forest when I was 20. I saw Michael Bibi and MK play on the same day, and it completely blew my mind. I went home on just a few hours’ sleep and started trying to recreate some of the sounds I had heard. From that moment, I became obsessed, and over time, it turned from a passion into something I knew could become my full-time path.
You’ve played some iconic venues. Is there a performance that stands out as a turning point for you?
fabric was definitely one of those moments where everything felt real. Playing Room 1 and feeling the energy in there gave me a huge sense of belief in where things were heading. It made me feel like all the work up to that point had been worth it, and it pushed me to aim even higher.
Building on that, is there a particular festival or venue at the top of your wishlist for future performances?
For a long time, Creamfields was the big target for me, so to have that locked in for August is something I am buzzing about. After that, Glastonbury is right at the top of the list, and Club Space is another dream venue I would love to experience from the booth.

From your perspective, what’s been the biggest challenge in breaking through the UK house scene?
The UK scene is incredibly strong and full of talented artists, which is inspiring but also means it is harder to stand out. I actually enjoy that challenge because it forces you to carry yourself properly, stay disciplined, and make sure everything you do has purpose. It pushes you to operate at a higher level.
Congratulations on your Fixation EP hitting #1 on Beatport across three genres! What about it do you think connected so strongly with listeners?
Thank you. I think it connected because the A side had something that felt original to people. It was quite different from what I had made before, and it was the first time I experimented with recording my own vocals. The funny part is that the vocals were recorded straight into my iPhone memos. It shows that it is not always about expensive gear; it is more about capturing a feeling and trusting your ideas.
Your remix of Deadmau5 and Kaskade’s “I Remember” just passed one million streams. What was your vision going into the remix, and how did you balance honoring the original while bringing your own sound to it?
That one was really special. I actually made it in a hotel room in Shanghai. It was my first time playing in China, and I was unsure how the crowd would react to my UK sound, so I wanted something familiar that would still feel fresh in a club setting. I knew everyone would recognize the vocals from “I Remember,” so I built my own idea around them. I sent it to Max Dean the same night, and he and Luke Dean rang me from outside DC10, going crazy about it. From that call, I had a feeling it was going to connect.

These two milestones arrived fairly close together. How have they shaped your momentum and confidence moving forward?
Hitting those goals back to back as we go into the new year has really strengthened my belief in what I am creating. It feels like I have unlocked a new direction, and I want to keep building on this sound, keep evolving, and keep raising the standard with every release. It has given me a real hunger to push things even further.
Looking ahead, what can fans look forward to in the new year? Any new shows or music on the horizon?
2026 is already shaping up to be the busiest year yet, with more than 50 shows in the diary before May. I have a long-awaited track coming early in the year, along with a run of releases that I am really excited about. There is a lot to come, and it is going to be a very exciting period for sure.
