After Fulton tragically passed away, Huntley has since taken the reins of the project to drive it into new territory while honoring his friend’s legacy. While Leaving Laurel’s self-titled debut album and follow-up LP, when the quiet comes, were rooted in lo-fi experimentation, nostalgic warmth, and the exploration of loss, especially on the latter, this album embraces something new. Fresh instrumentation and synths flood the soundscapes on our lives entwined, marking a new era for the project as Huntley expresses his emotions after a period of rediscovery and joy.
