Just a few days before Christmas, San Holo took to social media to drop off a few surprises for fans. Some might’ve seen his video on Instagram, while others might’ve stumbled across a few surprises on TikTok. These featured the beloved artist with his guitar, strumming along to a song that would later be revealed as “one one one.” Paired with the post is a sentimental caption that explores his roots and explains where san111 was born.
I see san111 as kind of a musical diary: a space where I can share melodies and sounds that are floating around in my head, inspired by life itself. It’s a way for me to express things I can’t always put into words.
San Holo
The san111 journey really began two decades ago, when San Holo first picked up a guitar and created some of his first melodies and songs, which were a huge motivator for him early on. This new project is rooted in his desire to turn back the clock to that era of inspiration while fostering a deeper connection to the human element of music.
Calling his new single “a small holiday gift,” San Holo officially revealed “one one one” the same day the post was published. While the soft, warm guitar melody dominates the beginning of the song, the track then builds with electronic layers as it develops, yet never loses the emotion and twinge of nostalgia along the way.
