Enta Releases ‘Self Care EP’ on Neurofunk Label Eatbrain

Enta’s Self Care EP features four technically complex neurofunk tracks shaped by heavy bass and detailed, rhythmic patterns.

Rising London-based DJ and producer Enta has carved out a lane within the darker and heavier corners of drum and bass. Known for marrying jump-up percussion with the high-octane energy of neurofunk, he’s emerging as a commanding presence within the genre, earning respect among producers and listeners alike for his distinctive style. Enta has built on that momentum with his latest release, the four-track Self Care EP, released via Hungary’s neurofunk label Eatbrain, a leading imprint within the subgenre.

Neurofunk is characterized by its dark, relentless energy and highly technical, futuristic sound design. Vocals and lyrics are often minimal and used sparingly rather than to drive a track forward, allowing the complex production to take center stage.

The Self Care EP is emblematic of the intricate sound design and high level of technical precision that distinguish neurofunk. All four tracks are built on layered textures, heavy bass, sharp synths, and crisp snares, with the scant vocals kept to the background rather than framed as a defining element. The result is a cohesive listening experience that unleashes chaos on the senses while still maintaining a clear sense of purpose from start to finish.

Emotional catharsis plays a key role in self care, offering a release valve for pent-up emotions rather than letting them stagnate. Music and raving have long served as a conduit for that release, creating space for listeners to process feelings through movement and sound rather than speaking. On the Self Care EP, Enta harnesses neurofunk’s uncompromising, intensity as a cathartic force, building pressure and release into the sound itself. Its immersive soundscapes create space for listeners to let the sound take over and unfurl.

You can listen to the Self Care EP on Spotify or purchase the EP on Beatport, and be sure to follow Enta on Instagram to see what music he releases next.

Jaclyn Sersland

Jaclyn’s journey as a raver began in 2022, but her obsession with music dates back to her middle school days as an angsty emo kid. A firm believer in the emo to raver pipeline, she has found a strong sense of community in the rave scene united by a common ethos of PLUR and a shared love for heavy basslines. A longtime writer and now Master’s in Journalism student at Georgetown University, Jaclyn is passionate about using her voice to spotlight the EDM scene. In particular, she enjoys writing about drum and bass, the number 1 favorite genre of hers, although her music taste spans wide so you will catch her byline on many types of stories. Her favorite artists are Andromedik, Sub Focus, Dimension, GRiZ, Oliverse, Illenium, Grabbitz, Zedd, Basstripper, Subsonic, and more.
