REZZ’s HypnoVizion Label Drops First Compilation, ‘Auditory Illusion Vol. 1'

REZZ handpicked ten up-and-coming bass artists from around the world to highlight through as many tracks, plus a remake of her 2016 hit, “Selector.”

REZZ is leveraging her HypnoVizion label to introduce ten up-and-coming bass artists through its first compilation, Auditory Illusion Vol. I. In just 11 tracks, these artists weave a tale through various forms of heavy music, flowing seamlessly from industrial to grime to experimental to all-encompassing bass.

The compilation opens with REZZ’s highly anticipated reworking of “Selector.” Maintaining the 2016 track’s original spirit, she uses the knowledge she’s gained over the nine years since its release to zhuzh it to her current sound. Then, CABLE’s “Midnight Animal” brings bone-crushing bass while VVN’s “To Bleed Without Color” blurs the line between mid-tempo, dark, and heavy bass. “Archanophobia” and “METAL HEAD” — from Blood Vision and Bardea, respectively — reflect HypnoVizion to a T with dark, intense, and driving industrial sounds.

SHSTR’s “Floating Sky” offers a bright and melodic middle-of-the-album respite, contrasting with Voidnet‘s “No Lights Ahead” and Rubi’s “No Exit.” Both bring pulsating bass, syncopated synths, and a harsh, industrial vibe. VAKRM, MLOTIK, and Voliik close out the compilation with a darker, grimier, more intense turn than previous songs, but all befitting of the HypnoVizion label.

The new artists, handpicked by REZZ herself, bring innovation and distorted synths to the imprint’s already bass-laden lineup. It is the perfect reflection of the label and its boss’ sound.
